SLEDT has arranged for Wells Hall Primary School, Sudbury, Suffolk, UK to twin with James Memorial Primary School in Lunsar, Sierra Leone. The children in both schools are captivated to learn about the very different lives of their new friends on another continent. They exchange personal letters and gifts. The UK children are very keen to help their less fortunate friends and raise funds to develop the school in Sierra Leone.

The pupils of Wells Hall School each donated £1 on non uniform day and raised a total of £304. This funded the installation of solar lights in two classrooms at James Memorial School. The pupils have light in their classroom for the first time significantly enhancing their studies. Previously the children from Wells Hall School funded new blackboards for every classroom in James Memorial School.
The children at Wells Hall School come from a modest area but they are hugely more privileged than the children at James Memorial School. They gave from their own money to help their less fortunate friends and in doing so have started to learn about helping others. The children also chose a project which is friendly to the environment.
